You are viewing an early British All Round The Box Label c1900 HUNT'S BRAIDED FUSEES Details are: This is a used c1900 Hunt's Braided Fusees ARTB label by Octavious Hunt of Moorfields, Bristol. Condition: Good to Very Good. This label shows visible signs of wear, especially along the edges of the different panels. This wear was probably caused by being kept in a trouser pocket and the box rubbing against the material. There is also a small sliver missing on the lowere panel between the words The & Ash. There has been some minor repairs and the label has been strengthened on the reverse. In all other respects the label is as described. Rarity: As with many labels of its age, this label is becoming harder to find in a complete condition and elusive to find even in Fair to Good condition. Additional Details: Hunt took over the Moorfields Factory in 1879 and operated there until c1924. The matches to which this label belongs were produced some two years before Bryant & may acquired a controlling interest in the company. This version printed in Red & Black on a smooth fronted and coarse backed yellowish buff paper and measuring 60 x 119mm overall, has a starting price to reflect its condition and rarity.
