Up for auction is a very NICE "RMC" marked Type I HIGH Wood Stock for the M1 Carbine ! In the slingwell , it is marked "RMC" signifying Rockola. T is a faint crossed cannon cartouche as well as an AA rebuild mark on the left side. I have had this stock on my Rockola for several years, but I found a type II with the boxed RMC to replace it. This is an "I CUT STOCK" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dark spots on the stock are just that, spots. They are not major dents or gouges. T are no brass screws, no cracks and no arsenal repairs ! As you can see in the pics, t is NO OVERHANG on the buttplate, it has not been sanded to death ! I took over a week to strip, steam and hand sand in a three stage process to give you what you see in the pics. I also used three coats of tung oil, followed by a five minute soak in boiled lindseed oil to finish the stock. T was a twenty four hour waiting period between each step, and each coat was hand rubbed. The pictures show a recoil plate, because I want you to see that this stock has not been sanded to death. I am keeping my metal for my new stock. I have some mismatched stock metal, so e-mail me if you need it. (I think you can switch your existing metal or look elsew to find the correct pieces.) T will be NO CHARGE for the stock metal ! I revere these pieces of history, and I take great care in "bringing them back"..........much to my wifes' chagrin ! This is a 60+ year old stock, so it is not perfect. But it is NOT supposed to be new. This is an "AS IS" auction, so please ask questions. I strongly recommend insurance, these are very valuable stocks, and if you live close enough , I will ship priority mail with delivery confirmation for the $14 shipping. It may cost a few dollars more if you live in AK. or Hi. Your WWII Carbine will be proud to wear this stock, no matter what the make, but it is correct for the Rockola, the rarest of the rare ! Look in the books, Rockola also made stocks for other manufacturers, including Quality hardware. This stock does not include a handguard, but if you want an unmarked 4 rivet handguard, I will include one that very closely matches the color at no extra charge. Good luck, and Semper Fi !
