Ian Desmond 2011 Washington Nationals Bobblehead This is a 2011 Washington Nationals stadium giveaway bobble head of shortstop Ian Desmond. It is the original stadium giveaway bobblehead of Desmond and makes for a good pairing with the more recent 2014 version.This item is new in the box and was only removed for the purpose of taking pictures for this listing. Nationals' bobble heads are often among the most valuable stadium giveaways on the market after a couple of years and this one is sure to increase in value as others have. Like all stadium giveaways, this bobble head has a few very minor manufacturer's errors that are only visible upon close inspection, like a popped air bubble underneath the left shirtsleeve and a couple of very small errant paint marks. This item will be packaged carefully with bubble wrap and packing peanuts to protect it during shipping. Ian Desmond has manned the shortstop position for the Nationals since 2009 and has been one of the best hitting shortstops in the National League. He was an All-Star in 2012 and also won the Silver Slugger Award as the best hitting shortstop in 2012 and 2013. Desmond was a 20-20 player in both 2012 and 2013 as he stole more than 20 bases and had more than 20 home runs in both seasons.
