's a fantastic mid-century modern find, an Ib Kofod-Larsen designed "penguin" lounge chair with the rare turned spindle wood frame (most of these chairs have the more common welded-iron frame). Plus, this chair has the very desirable laminated and bent plywood (with teak or rosewood veneer) back and seat (most have an upholstered seat). The veneer on the seat and back stands out with exceptional and vibrant wood grain and is in very good condition, just a few insignificant scratches and rub marks. Likewise on the spindle legs and frame, only minor scuffs, although one rear leg has a small 1/8" hole about 1/4" deep just below one screw. Also, the chair seems to list just a bit to one side, which should be easily corrected (but I'll leave that to the new owner). Overall, a very nice looking example of Kofod-Larsen's signature piece that's sure to be an outstanding focal point in your Danish modern or mid-century modern decor. Shipping costs will be determined by the winning bidder's location. With the oversize package, FedEx Ground costs shouldn't be more than $120.00 to the farthest corners of the lower 48 U.S. states. If you're closer to Lincoln, Nebraska, the cost will be less. Please see my other auctions for more great mid-century finds.
