ICHIKO Tin Friction 1961 Buick Fire Chief 15" NMIB Offered is a stunning 15 1/2" long tin friction 1961 Buick Invicta Fire Chief car. Made by Ichiko of Japan in the 1960s, it is clean as new and in near mint, unplayed condition, complete with all parts intact including original box. Finished as a Fire Chief car, this stately command vehicle has great graphics including fire department crest on roof. Showing no play wear, the bright red finish has a wonderful luster with no dents or dings, and shows only some factory touch up and typical minor age spider webbing. Polished trim shines all shines like chrome with no trace of tarnish or rust. Blue tinted plastic window "glass" is crystal clear with no cracks or breaks, and both are still firmly attached. Colorful litho interior with separate large plastic steering wheel is a delight to see. Tires are all flawless and are adorned with Buck inscribed hubcaps. Original radio antenna will not come loose, but does have a wobble to it. Flat black base is pristine showing no wear at all. Friction motor with siren sound runs like new; long, strong and smooth. Roof mounted emergency light rotates 360 degrees when engine is engaged and windshield wipers (with simulated rubber blades!) move back and forth. Colorful box has great graphics and is complete although showing some wear with small rip in lid from roof light. This large and impressive piece displays wonderfully and would be a welcome addition to any tinplate toy car or fire apparatus collection! Your item will be securely packaged for a safe journey, but insurance is offered and strongly recommended as I accept no responsibility for item once it is mailed. Delivery confirmation is included on every domestic shipment to insure the package arrives at it's destination. For international shipments, insurance is required, and Airmail First Class is used, but t is NO GUARANTEE of delivery. A tracking number is available with the more costly Express Mail International. Express Mail International is required on items with value over $250. Shipping charges are fixed as is shipping method. A slight handling charge is built in to cover shipping room costs and help. I do not skimp on packing. I am a collector as well as a dealer, and many times have been chagrined to open a box and find a rare vintage toy broken en route. Not due to postal misuse, but by poor and insensitive wrapping. You will not receive toys packed like this from me. All my items are thoughtfully and carefully packed as though I would be mailing them to myself. Prices are set by size and weight. USPS Priority Mail dimensional weight rates will now apply for certain large packages shipped to select zones within the U.S. Priority Mail can be very expensive with an oversize package, as many of my toys require, tfore for those larger items I use Parcel Post which is just as safe and almost as fast.
