An interesting print by Julio Gonzalez titled "Personnage au Livre" was printed in Paris by Daniel Jacomet and published in 1957 by Berggruen & Cie for a show at their gallery. This rich pochoir print is approximately 4 x7 inches, overall sheet is 8.625 x 4.375 inches. Printed on a heavy vellum stock and in fine condition, just a small amount of foxing as can be expected with work of this age. Signed in the plate, not by hand. An affordable, iconic print by a mid-century master. Pochoir (French: “stencil”) is a highly refined technique of making fine limited editions of stencil prints, a process for adding colors individually, usually watercolors or gouache, to create an original print or to enhance an existing print, typically collotypes or lithographs. Popular in the first half of the 20th century, the process often utilized as many as 15-40 stencils and was featured in most of the exquisite fashion magazines and art revues in France. You can because items can be returned within seven days if they are not as represented as long as the return is in the same conditioned as shipped. We will of course combine shipping for multiple purchases in most cases. Your print is sold unframed and will ship flat, positioned with acid-free corner mounts on museum board, in a clear, protective sleeve. Rigid cardboard will provide the outer protection.
