OLIVETTI UNDERWOOD LETTERA 32 TYPEWRITER MADE IN ITALY DESIGNED BY MARCELLO NIZZOLI 1963 with CLEANING SET, PRINTED INFORMATION, USERS GUIDE It's great looks and precise mechanical action make this 1960's era iconic portable typewriter a classic. It followed the trendy, extremely popular Olivetti Lettera 22. Apparently the Lettera 32 typewriter was popular among journalists and students. For example, apparently Cormac McCarthy used an Olivetti Lettera 32 to write nearly all of his fiction, screenplays, and correspondence over a fifty year period from 1960 to 2009. In 2009 his typewriter was auctioned by Christies to benefit the Santa Fe Institute. It sold for $254,500. Marcello Nizzoli (1887 - 1969) was an Italian artist, architect, industrial and graphic designer. Typewriter and Case made in Italy. Iconic symbols: The red lock button, the Olivetti Logo.
