IDED 9 TH VIRGINIA CAVALRY BRIDLE WITH BRONZE CS ROSETTESThe confederate cavalry bridle with iron watering bit &bronze C S rosettes were made & used by Sergeant, Ordnance Sergeant for the Regiment & Captain Eugene Baker, 9th Virginia Cavalry.It is a custom made bridle made of very good brown leather & has an old repair on the top.The rosettes are 1 3/4" diameter with a raised 1 1/4" diameter area with 7/8" letters C S. They do not have a lead filled back & have some green corrosion.The leather is in good condition & is still fairly soft & pliable.It was part of the James Anderson Collection & was on display in the Fort Hell Museum in Petersburg, Virginia during the Civil War Centennial of 1961 to 1965. It comes with an Anderson Collection/Fort Hell Museum letter.He was from Winchester, Virginia & grew up on the family farm near Baker West Virginia. I have pictures of the old farm house.See his custom made pistol/carbine cavalry holster & British 1853 cavalry saber l listed separately.
