The IDIOT, Fedor Dostoieffsky (Dostoevsky). Vizetelly, London, 1887. First English translation by Whishaw, with 1887 on title page. Ex-university library, professionally restored as non-intrusively as possible. Spine ends repaired, as you see. Hinges and headbands replaced. Pastedowns replaced with archival paper, matching tone of textblock. Name erased from title page. Only remaining sign of library is erased stamp to front page edges, still very faintly visible. Book now rock-solid, no foxing, no tanning, no writing. Both very readable and very collectible.
This book is vanishingly rare, almost never seen. So rare Wikipedia and many other sources haven't even heard of it. None others available online. More pictures available on request.
