Professor Oiva Toikka is one of the great names in Finnish design, known foremost for his surprising and bold work with glass. As an internationally known artist, he has won numerous awards. Toikka works mainly with glass and ceramics. He is also fascinated by scenic art and has created impressive costumes and stage decors. In his view the drama of scenic art is repeated in glassblowing.
