~~~ I am currently in the process of listing around 50+ quality Collectible OLD FISHING LURES in auction ~~~ most will be scarce Musky Lures or historic Wisconsin made Lures with a few Ultra Rare Showcase lures rarely seen offered for sale.... ... **** .... 1940s Illinois made GEM MINT factory fresh appearing lure ~~~ ULTRA RARE introduction style WOOD BODY 3-piece style 3-1/4" EARLY GEN SHAW WIGGLE LURE in flawless brilliant Redhead White body pattern WITH ORIGINAL 2-ps Cardboard LURE BOX ~~~ 1940s vintage Flawless MINT lure with collector-pleasing GEM MINT Original Paint plus EARLY TYPE LARGE TACK EYE painted eyes ~~~ Made by GEN SHAW BAIT COMPANY of Kankakee, Illinois.... Two-piece style cardboard ORIGINAL LURE BOX with early style artwork showing a " Lure Casting Fisherman Fishing Scene " box top illustration ~~~ Two-piece cardboard Lure Box with black printed top on off-white color lure box (see photos) ~~~ Original "reinforced style" treble hooks used on the earliest produced Gen Shaw lures ~~~ One end of the lure box is rubber stamped 160 which is likely the lure color code ~~~ Has flawless huge painted eyes -- the oversized eyes used only on the earliest made Gen Shaw lures ~~~ Absolutely flawless condition showing not even a trace of friction rub ~~~ Looking close with the benefit of natural light sheen off the flawless paint surface one can detect the wood grain pattern of the wood lure body appearing through the original paint. Most noticeable when close up inspecting the flat sides of the body as well as looking closely the cut out body joints where natural wood grain texture roughness also plainly shows thru the paint on each of the six flat surfaces on the V-shaped body cuts made to form the joints connecting the 3-pc lure body parts ~~~ The later production plastic body Gen Shaws have plastic SMOOTH surface, smaller eyes, regular style trebel hooks plus were packaged in the later style most common found Gen Shaw 2-pc lure boxes ~~~ Outlines of the concealed metal pins used to anchor the body hinges barely show through the original paint covering the hardware used to connect the jointed lure body.... The original FIRST PRODUCED WOOD BODY model Gen Shaw Wiggle Lure in GEM MINT is ultra rare....This lure is absolutely flawless plus comes with the early style off-white color 2-pc Original Lure Box. Gen Shaw soon changed over to tenite lure bodies and of course plastic body Wiggle Lures are about the only top condition Gen Shaw examples collectors are now able to add to their lure collection...
