Ilana Goor was born in Israel w she attended the Bezalel School of Art in Jerusalem which had been co-founded by her grandfather.
Ilana Goor began sculpting in Los Angeles in the late 60's. The Los Angeles State Museum presented a one woman show of Ilana Goor in 1972.
Since then Ilana Goor was requested to install statues in major public locations and exhibited her works in museums throughout Europe, America, Japan and Israel.
In 1983 Ilana Goor designed jewelery, buckles and sold belts to most major department stores in America including I Magnin, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Saks Fifth Ave. and in Japan.
In 1986 Ilana Goor introduced a collection of iron furniture and accessories to the American marketplace as limited editions signed by the artist.
She was awarded the Roscoe award for Best Design in residential seating in 1988.
Her works are presently displayed in sixteen decorator and designer showrooms throughout the United States. Her iron furniture collection was displayed in the Israel Museum, Jerusalem in1987 and in 1993 Ilana Goor introduced her collection of furniture in Japan along with her second collection of jewelry.
Ilana Goor and her family had lived in L.A. California for 20 years before they moved to New York City w they reside alternately with Old Jaffa, Israel.
During 1994 Ilana Goor introduced a series of assemblages of antiquated farming tools
including old plows and shredders. " Her assemblages combine materials and forms which bear direct and indirect traces of human contacts from most distinctive times and places" says Prof. Mordechai Omer, the director of the Tel Aviv Museum with regards to Ms. Goor's works.
In 1994 the corner stone to the "Ilana Goor Museum" in Old Jaffa, Israel was set.
The opening of the Ilana Goor Museum, founded in her private residence in old Jaffa, was in September 1995.
The museum includes an extensive variety of Ilana Goor's works from different periods and themes as well as an international collection of etchings, drawings and paintings by various artists.
