I've had many of these in my hands through out my 10 years of selling books but these are to me, my most favorite. As take note of the year. 1938* This is an IMPORTANT year for the world-with so many events taking place in history that is leading up to WWII. These issues are embellished with Herr Hitler articles/events/world changing history in the making* Read WWII before it happened! Japan, Germany, Britain, Italy-Austria, Czech- Short of anyone reading Mien Kampf - Hitler laid out his plans long before the US got involved in WWII after being bombed by Japan at Pearl harbor in Dec 1942. you will read about all the Nazi meetings- the Propaganda- Invading Austria, Czech etc., How the Jews and Catholics shops were vandalized, burned down, rocks thrown braking windows and looted, and the proud Germans laughing in the background. How the Jews had to wear a marking to show they were Jewish. How the synagogues-famous ones were burnt down and churches- how they invaded the Jews homes with a silly gun warrant to search their homes, destroy them and take them away. All this was in the news years before the start of WWII in 1939. And The infamous Peace Treaty between Hitler, Mussolini, the French Prime Minister and Chamerberlin the British Prime Minister. Signing of the 4 power Munich agreement!! Roosevelt did write Hitler saying he urged him to handle things in a peaceful manner, ten followed by however we have no ties to Europe. I think the US had no plans to get involved until the Japanese got the US involved-meanwhile thousands and millions were dying. You'll read about the Japanese's and the towns and neighboring areas they invaded and attached. You'll read about Gen Franco - Vermoer - Dr. Schuschnigg-Austrian Chancellor- End of Austrian Independence-when Herr Hitler entered/invaded -The German Reich-Surrender of Czech- refuges and about losing the colonies after WWI and this is what Hitler wanted to take back and so much more! SO MUCH MORE. It is literally embellished with photographs. And if you know the London News- you'll also read about other popular happenings of the time -from great Art to archeology- Africans and head hunters, Nature and animals, actors and movies and plays of the time. GUNS, TANKS, PLANES, BOMBS, MISSILES AND AIRCRAFT OF THE TIME. If you are like me, you'll send 3 days and 15 hours reading everything! I will miss these. Ill miss history in the making and learning so much I hadn't know of prior-pre WWII facts.good - these are not bound. They are larger- tall measuring 14 x 10 '' large- a bit rough at the left edges and most of the back last pages are present but loose, not bound. 1 issue has no front cover page. Some pages a little loose-T's a stamp to top front covers from a library. 1 had a few numbers written on front cover.The issues are all from the year 1938.
