An original issue of The Illustrated London News dated Saturday May 15th 1915, with extensive coverage of the sinking of the Cunard liner RMS Lusitania during the First World War. 18pp (36 sides) of which 13 sides are dedicated to the sinking including 3 double-page illustrations showing the ship going down, a sectional diagram of the ship and the struggle for life after the sinking, plus full-page articles, photos and sketches showing some of the victims and survivors, eyewitness sketches, photos of the Lusitania's interior etc. The remainder of the magazine consists of mainly war related articles, illustrations, photos and adverts. This has been disbound so there is the usual rough edge to the spine, there is also very slight staining to the top left corner of the front-page which has gone through to the first 4 or 5 pages but this is a minor fault and the magazine is in otherwise vg+ condition. Measures 16in x 11in. Shop Ref FP12001. Please visit my Ebay Shop for similar items, antique prints, books, magazines and ephemera.
