This auction is for 5 issues of ILLUSTRATION, the outstanding pictorial journal published by Daniel Zimmer. Included in this lot are issues 6-10, with all 5 issues being offered as a set. ILLUSTRATION is a thick, 8.5” x 11” publication which covers the entire classic illustration field, with outstanding reproduction and detailed, well-researched articles. All these copies are in beautiful shape, having been only extremely carefully read and then stored away. Because of the number of pages, some copies of saddle-stitch issues may have very, very tiny tears or paper over-hangs at the top and bottom of the spine. This is quite common for saddle-stitched magazines of this size, and is an expected bindery flaw. It is not considered a defect. There might be a faint or extremely minor defect here or there (and I’ve tried to point out any major ones below), but overall these are beautiful copies, with an average condition ranging Very Fine or higher condition, with some being as close to perfect as you are likely to find. All these issues have been extremely carefully read and stored, and are in truly exceptional condition. All these copies are First Printings, long out-of-print, and have become quite difficult to find -- especially in the condition offered here.
