An amazing miniature antique Japanese Imari porcelain bowl. Best quality work with microscopic detail of chrysanthemums and flowering rice stalks. Very early and high quality for these. All finely shaded and quality almost exactly to scale, pretty impressive as this is less than an inch. The shape of the bowl has a rough leafy edge with gold gilt edging around the whole rim. This is a style for the European market around 1870-1920. I think this is late 19th century. Not sure if it is for something like snuff or just a miniature piece. Fully and very finely signed in red characters to the bottom. May have been for a very fine doll house which were very popular and opulent in the Victorian period, and reflect the ragged leaf edge with gilt rim of that period. Buyer pays $4.00 shipping, International buyers pay actual cost of shipping, probably around $11. CA residents pay CA sales Tax. Thanks, please see my other auctions for Asian art etc.
