Up for auction is a figural Imperial Amphora. It stands 23 inches tall and the base is 9 inches at its widest point. The figure is of a Dutch girl, with a firewood basket. According to the marks on the bottom, this Amphora, 4426, 30 was desgined by Eduard Stellmacher, unquestionably one of the finest amphora artists, around 1900. Marking also includes the Imperial Amphora Turn circular mark, the crown, and the oval amphora mark. Stellmacher worked for Imperial Amphora for a time. The figure is large and makes an impression. It is in excellent condition and shows almost no wear - since it is over 100 years old, someone clearly took very good care of it.
