F or auction is this beautiful Imperial Purple Slag Glass Rooster Covered Dish #158. The colors are pretty swirls oflight, medium, and dark purple, white and even some dark to medium blue. The rooster dish measures about 8-1/4" tall by about 7-1/2" long by6" wide. T is a very tiny nick or flea bite on the rim of the rooster portion, and what I believe to be a burst tiny bubble on the edge of the inner split right tail. T is another tiny chip or burst bubble on the bottom edge of the bowl that I couldn't see but felt with my finger nail. These are very minor, but I like to be exact in my descriptions so t are no surprises to the buyer. T are no other chips, cracks or repairs. For a beautiful piece of Imperial glassbetween 34 to 44 years old, this rooster covered dish is in excellent condition. Both the top and the bottom parts have theIG embossed mark. The lattice or "Dancing Sailor" pattern on the top edge of the bowl is very pretty. Imperial used this lattice on several of their covered dishes. This dish can be found in the Taves & Jennings 2007 Slag & Marble Glass price guide: page 16, ImperialRooster Covered Dish, #158 or 43870, 7.5" long, Purple Slag, made between 1964 and 1974, with the IG mark, valued at $160 to $180. This would be a great addition to an Imperial or slag glass collection. Please ask questions before bidding read more
