Offered is a striking piece of Imperial Art Glass. It is
a classic squatty shaped cabinet vase with a slightly rolled in top that has a beautiful iridescent multi-hued reflective surface. It is a deep amethyst color that was called Pearl Amethyst by the Imperial Glass Company. The entire vase is finished and the recessed bottom (see photo) has the Imperial " Iron Cross" mark. Pictures of this line may be found in the book Imperial Glass Encyclopedia Volume 1 by James Measell on pages 169-171. The color in this vase is spectacular and rivals the best in iridescent art glass. This vase dates from circa 1918. It is just under 2 1/4 inches high, 2 1/8 inches across the open top, 3 3/4 inches across at the shoulder, its widest point, and 2 7/8 inches across the round bottom. This vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. T is some very light wear on the raised bottom edge. Any white spots or light spots you see in the photos are flash reflections. A wonderful decorative and highly collectible piece for the lovers of American Art Glass and Imperial Glass. Buyer pays shipping. Money order ships immediately; check must clear.
