The past twelve months have been the most successful ever since we are on eBay. Last December we even received the POWERSELLER OF THE YEAR 2006 award. However, we feel that now is the right time for us to take a break from our daily eBay business, and start working on other challenging projects such as building up our online sale results archive. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers and friends for 9 years of loyalty and confidence. Over the next couple of weeks we will be selling our entire store inventory of more than 800 fine antiques and collectibles with NO RESERVE! Please all 65 STORE ITEMS that are up for auction right now. PLEASE OUR ASSORTMENT OF BOOKS & CATALOGUES ABOUT ASIAN ART! This impressive ceramic sculpture, dating back to the Tang dynasty, shows the depiction of a Bactrian camel. With its long and slender legs the animal is standing on a rectangular, integrated base and has its head raised. The camel has a powerful expression on its face and is meticulously hand painted. The camel shows two humps and we find a beautiful ornate saddle blanket. The Bactrian camel was not indigenous to China, but imported from the states of the Tarim Basin, eastern Turkestan and Mongolia. The Tang state even created a special office to supervise Imperial camel herds. The camel was used by the court and many merchants for local transportation and of course was the "ship" of the desert, linking China to the oasis cities of Central Asia, Samarkand, Persia and Syria. A terrific Tang Dynasty Terracotta sculpture in a rare hand painted version! PLEASE ALL ASIAN ANTIQUES I AM CURRENTLY SELLING ON EBAY! Good luck in bidding and please see my other auctions on Ebay now. Please e-mail me with any questions - I'll be happy to answer.
