We are pleased to offer this fine old antique portrait brooch from the Edwardian era! The setting is just as striking, with its intricate millibeaded design, as the beauty of the lady portrayed ! The brooch measures 2 " across and weighs 14.1 grams. The setting, which appears to be gold-plated, is set with about 100 tiny sparkling marcasites , in two rows around the center portrait. ( T is one small stone missing at 3 o'clock). The portrait appears to be a chromolith and is around 100 years old, and is covered by a domed glass or hard plastic crystal in good condition. The dusty pastel seafoam green background sets off the pale pink and rosy lips of our auburn haired damsel! The back of the brooch sports a replacement, rather primitive, locking pin. I was told this is easily worth $175 plus, but I shall let you determine that! what a great gift this would be for that person who loves fine antique jewelry! This is the BEST!
