INCREDIBLE BOOK 1901 ATHLETICS AT PRINCETON A HISTORY This first edition 1901 book has 619 numbered pages and over 150 pictures of various Princeton teams, buildings, individual athletes, Olympians from 1859 to 1901. Individual chapters deal with various teams: baseball, football, track, gymnastics, rowing, lacrosse, cricket, lawn tennis, shooting, golf, bicycling and "minor" sports. T are also chapters about athletic management, grounds and buildings, style of play, etc. The book was compiled and edited by Frank Presbrey of the Class of 1879 and James Hugh Moffatt of the Class of 1900 with an introduction by Henry van Dyke of the Class of 1873. It was published in 1901 by the Frank Presbrey Company. Colorful orange and black front covers with gilt on the spine. The covers have been separated from the binding with only a thread hanging on. In addition the front cover is separated from the spine and someone has taped the two together. The text is on a smooth paper stock which shows very minor aging. The inside back blank facing page is torn in half. The book measures approximately 8" x 10 1/4". It weighs almost 6 pounds prior to packing. Great vintage sports photos throughout!
