Incredible KURDISH JAFF Animal Head CICIM weaving

This is a Vintage KURDISH 'JAFF Animal head' Brocade. 100% handmade, vegetably dyed this Masterwork is also sometimes classified as overlay brocade and further referenced also as Kilim/Cicim Brocade weaving from the Kurdish wilds of Iraq/Turkiye. It measures 7' X 5' 8" exactly. Looking at the designs and intricacy of skilled weaving on the back of this Flatweave is as splendid as the front. The beautiful ambiguity is subtle and controlled, so difficult to believe someone most probably illiterate could produce thismasterwork of the heavens. The cross ornamented dividing lines, a feature of JAFF weavings, is depicted in the offset of pairs of warps which is creatively used to construct smoother diagonal lines within the pattern of the whole piece. The almost 'Joseph's coat of many colors' kalaidescopic mix of colors within the motifwork, encapsulating reds, golds, whites blues and burnt orange hues is fascinating and captivating. Each and every diamond panel of Kirkbudak 'Forty branches' draws the viewer into the seductive imagery within the within, delving ever down into the minute intricacy of design. This is a very impactive example of Kurdish Weaving, in pristine condition. In reality this is this is a stunning piece of folk or nomadic artwork which would be a must have for any collector of intricate Nomadic finery.
