This is a very large in-ground grinding stone that is a personal find of mine from the Sacramento County area. Material of grindstone is a granite hardstone , poundstone pestle is a basalt rock. Grindstone is 12" in length, 9" across, and 7" for height ( if in an in- ground upright position height is just about 8"high). Circumference of grinding area at rim is 4 1/2" x 4". Depth of grind area is 1 1/2". The pestle stone is 3 1/2" x 3" and is well used. This is a very collectible set and a nice center piece for the display of artifacts of the past for any home.
