If you enjoy collecting Indian and frontiersman related Terracotta and Clay items such as Pottery,Pots, and bowls, you will enjoy what I am offering up for Auction. are 24 pipes that were manufactured in the 1850's . They are made of Clay and Terracotta (t are 11 different makes , 4 are face pipes ) .The pipes are from Point Pleasant, Clermont County, Ohio .Legally obtained by ebay standards . Production of these tobacco pipe began with Cornwall E Kirkpatrick in ca. 1849 . And by 1870 was owned by Nathan S. Davis ( Per: Northeast Historical Archaeology Vol. 5, Nos. 1-2 ).The pipes made from this factory used a section of river cane for the stem. Many of these pipes were unearthed in the late 1960 's and early 1970 's .These pipes are also recognized by the Smithsonian Institute Per: AMERICANA Magazine July / August Issue 1979 under contents-CLAY PIPES, this magazine can still be purchased on line for around $10.00 .
