This exceptional Guilford-Yuma point, early archaic 7500-5000 BP (before present), measures 2 3/4 inches in length by just over 3/4 inch at maximum width. Point is made of heavily patinated speckled grey rhyolite. Point features a deep concave base, lightly ground hafting area, convex serrated blade edges, rounded tip, near perfect symetry and super condition. Point was collected from a transitional paleo to early archaic ridge top site in Alleghany County North Carolina. This is an outstanding example of a large Guilford-Yuma Lanceolate point from the mountains of North Carolina.
