This auction is for a silver cross that may be from the Fur Trade Era. It is made of silver with a silver loop that is soldered closed. I do not know the content. It has not been polished. On the back side there is part of a cartouche at the bottom of the cross. There is an (R) andwhat looks like the backside of a (C). Please look at the photos close to decide for yourself. The cartouche and inititals look like they belong to Robert Cruickshank (1780-1820). The cross measures approx. 2 3/8 inches in length and approx. 1 7/8 inches wide. It measures approx. (.021 inches) thick. Please look at the photos close and check my other auctions for more items. Thank you. Post Script-This item and approx. 200 same era collectibles were purchased from an estate several years ago after the owner/collector passed away. I will be listing a majority of them in the next several months. His name was Joe Henderson. He passed away at the age of 57. He was an Archeologist. He lived in Missouri and started his career by working in Missouri and Arkansas. He then went west and worked in New Mexico and Arizona. He worked in archeology for 20 years before his death.
