An ebay listing from www. indian miniature paintings GUARANTEED AS DESCRIBED Maharaja Maharao Arjun Bahadur with sons South Deccan, circa 1800 Opaque watercolour with gold on wasli (hand-made paper for miniature painting) 2 6.5cm by 23cm (appro x 10 1 /4 x 9 inches) A painting which according to the inscription of the reverse is Maharaja Maharao Arjun Bahadur with two princes, his baby son on his knee and boy or young man opposite facing them. Two attendants are in an area outside of the terrace on which the sit and stand. The ruler smokes a huqqa while holding what may be fruit. He sits on cushions resting on a small but fine carpet, with his sword lying on top. His costume indicates a province in the south of Deccan. others All paintings are posted/shipped at less than cost price!
