For your consideration is this cabinet card photograph of "Knife Chief" a Pawnee Chief by famous Indian, Cowboy and Western photographer William S. Prettyman of Arkansas City Kansas. It dates to about 1880. (see picture) It states Pawnee Chief in the photograph. The photograph is in excellent condition with great contrast and clarity. The overall measurement is 6-1/2" tall by 4-1/4" wide. This and one other albumen came from an estate in Oklahoma City this weekend. I am listing the second one today. Photographers info : In 1879 Prettyman came to Emporia Kansas, in 1883 William went into Indian Territory. He was know for taking his camera w no other white man had been to capture photographic history of Indian Territory natives. He is also known for his sweeping views of the two Oklahoma land runs of 1889 and 1893. Of the later he moved to the newly founded town of Blackwell Oklahoma.
