I really do not know the age of this tomahawk head..I do know it is much, much better than any that are selling today, with the possible exception of some that are made by custom bladesmiths..The blade is much thicker than any I have ever seen....Is this an original tomahawk head from an Indian trade or is it a replica?..I simply do not know..At the price I am selling it for,I guess it really doe's not matter, It could have possibnly been forged by a master bladesmith, but it is sunsigned as far as I can tell..Has a very nice patina on it with about the same amount of patina that was on some of the cilvil war swords I have owned over the years..Which of course were pretty old, not that great at math, sorry..O'K,down to the specifics of the matter, blade is 7 inchs in length, has a cutting edge of 2 and 1/4 inchs, now is the thing that throws me as for as original or not? The blade at the thickest part is over 1/2 inch thinck, not the pipe, not the hole w the stick fots in, the blade, look at the picture and you will see what I mean..It tapers from t to a nice edge...Any questions, please feel free to contact me, For more nice items especially the edged type, check my other auctions..Now notice this please, I am selling thios at a price for a replica, So if you win it, do not say"this is not an origianl tomahawk?"
