Indiana Jones pinball machine - game description Welcome to the adventure! Indiana Jones, the Pinball Adventure, was released by Williams Electronics in July, 1993, with an outstanding team involved in its production: designer Mark Ritchie, software by Brian Eddy, superb sound to be credited to Chris Granner and Rich Karstens, Doug Watson in artwork, Jack Skalon responsible for mechanical design, and Scott Matrix and Eugene Geer on dot matrix animations. Based on the movie trilogy starring Harrison Ford, Indy was the next machine released from the Williams/Bally pinball skunk works after the renowned Twilight Zone. IJ was the first pin to feature a new sound system known as DCS (Digital Compression System). The DCS was originally planned to debut on Twilight Zone, but the system was still under development when TZ went to production. The DCS is responsible for IJ's incredible sounds due to the amount of storage space available using the new system. Because of this, Indy had the best sound yet heard in a pinball machine. Even today, many people rank Indy as one of best sounding pins ever made. The sound people did an incredible job of integrating the various movie sound clips into the game play. Indy is, at first sight, a simple looking game. The playfield is relatively open and uncluttered, with 2 ramps, 2 flippers, 2 slingshots, and an assortment of other normal pinball goodies. However, this wide-body pin has many features, including a mini-playfield in the upper left corner of the playfield that tilts left and right - the Path of Adventure! - and a golden idol watching from the right center. With a complex set of 12 modes (4 for each Indiana movie) , 3 video modes (1 for each movie; dot matrix video bonus rounds incorporate scenes from the 3 films right into play) , voice samples from all your favorite actors, and 7 steel balls (6 active and 1 captive) , pinball never played like this! True harmony between the blockbuster series' pinnacle action and the best gaming elements make this a collector and player's dream.
