The Indus Valley Civilization (3000-1500 BC was established circa 2600-1900 BC) was an ancient civilization in the Indus and Ghaggar-Hakra river valleys which is now Pakistan and also north western India and parts of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan . This 3300 BC. Terracotta Cup with beige slip has two peepal leaves in the design and a Zebu horned bull, with a small fish above the bull. This is the first time we have seen a fish and bull with this design. The peepal leaves are coloured with red and turquoise pigment and inlaid with dark pigmentation. The leaves are separated by black vertical stripes. The motifs are encased within two bands top and bottom of the cup. The cup also has the remains of a faint pattern on the inside of the rim this is the second time we have ever seen this. Condition: Good and choice slight restoration on rim. 61.70 mm High 93.46 mm Top opening Weight 120 grams . In time Indus Valley pottery will increase in value, at the present moment it is reasonable, and in many cases lower priced than modern day pieces of pottery.
