The Indus Valley Civilization (3000-1500 BC was established circa 2600-1900 BC) was an ancient civilization in the Indus and Ghaggar-Hakra river valleys which is now Pakistan and also north western India and parts of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan . Another name for this civilization is the Harappan Civilization. Harappa is a location within the Indus River Valley in Pakistan . This Mehrgarh 2700 BC buff terracotta male fertility figure has his arms down by his side. The body is modelled in a standing position. The covering is of a light beige slip over red terracotta. He has a radiate crown piece on his head with five pointed shapes two of which have been broken. The eyes are deep set with fragments of black pigment still in, also some faint black pigment on the face. His has resting on his front shoulders some form of covering; this decoration is some form of jewellery. Also he has a flat chest piece resting on his upper chest which is some form of decoration. He has stylized facial features which are normal; he also has some slight black pigmentation on his face. Condition very good but his right arm has been restored. Men's figure are very rare. General conditions: These male and female figures are thousands of years old. They are very fragile and some have been restored.
