This material has hydrophane properties and can be greatly enhanced when soaked in water, but I don't believe that accurately portrays the opal being offered. This opal behaves NOTHING like the old mine Ethiopian opals that would almost always craze over time or in the process of cutting and polishing. So far this opal is proving itself to be just as strong and dependable as Australian opals, but the overwhelming majority of this material has incredibly bright plays of color and amazing patterns that are unique to only this area, and are some of the most impressive in the opal world.
