Butterfly-Morpho cypris!!!!Profoundly Beautiful!!! Wynlyn Wings presents this gorgeous blue Morpho cypris which is arguably one of the most beautiful butterflies in the world and a rival for Morpho rhetenor helena in terms of profound beauty. This specimen is from Peru, South America. Morpho's or Morphidae are a relatively small family of butterflies comprising about 80 species in total all of which are confined to the Neotropical region. The incredible intense reflective quality of the wings of this cypris species is structural and consequently will not fade when exposed to light for long periods. All species of Morphidae have developed a series of eye-spots or ocelli on the underside of the wings which combined with their dull underside appearance can act as camouflage in the jungle. What you get: Species: Morpho cypris (Male) Locality Collected/Bred: Columbia, South America Quality: A1- (See photograph) Packaging: Unmounted (Dried & Papered). The picture of the actual specimen is shown in an unmounted state, the other picture is a stock picture used for illustrative purposes. Please E-mail any questions prior to bidding.
