Up for your review in todayâe(tm)s auction is a rare antique restored International Harvester Company tool box from a horse drawn farm implement. I found this item when I was working near the Canadian border on the Anti-ballistic Missile System. I spoke with the farmer/owner and he said that if I wanted the tool box, I had better get it before the next grass fire came through the area. The farmer also stated that he thought the implement was from the late 1800s to early 1900s. The wooden bottom to the tool box was so rotten that it fell apart when I attempted to remove it. I flew the box home to Colorado Springs and had it rebuilt with a new bottom, the metal sandblasted and a new paint job. I had used this tool box as a flea market cash box for many years but at my 77 years of age, it is time to pass it along to another collector. The box is 12 and 1/8 inches long by 5 and 3/8 inches wide by 4 inches deep. The original wooden bottom had a 1⁄4 inch deep rounded groove that was bolted to a round metal member of the implement. The new bottom does not have the groove. The metal of the box is in amazing condition considering itâe(tm)s age. The unpacked tool box weighs approximately 3.2 pounds. T is no reserve. At auction end, I will advise the winning bidder of the postage (I had to put in a cost due to new eBay rules. Your cost may read more
