This is a highly collectible hotel pitcher or small tea pot or syrup server from the renowned Waldorf Astoria Hotel. It measures 5 inches tall by 6 inches wide from spout to handle, it is marked International Silver Company Silver Soldered 05038 10 oz - t is also a patent number and a heart with 128 - above all of this are the words The Waldorf Astoria very hard to read and only with a magnifying glass as it looks like the words were scratched - below it is what looks like a date of 193 that can barley be read. It looks like a 3 but I can not be positive - we cannot read the final number such as 1931 or whatever. This tea pot or pitcher has some small dents and pitting and is being sold as is because of these things. It still is tarnished with age and the cover is a also a little crooked at the rim. T are scratches around the inner rim as if t were utensils in it. For the person who collects hotel memorabilia this is a find even with its slight age related imperfections - from the Waldorf Astoria with its formal look in the 30s I can see the waiter in a suit with a napkin over his arm serving tea to high society. This was purchased at an estate sale. Bid with confidence check my feedbacks regarding glassware and shipping, I deal in mostly china, glassware and silver. I only sell what i would keep - My glassware is always lovely. USPS RATES HAVE GONE UP AND THEY ARE ASKING FOR DIMENSIONS OF BOXES TO PUT IN THE SHIPPING LABEL I DONT KNOW WHICH BOX I WILL USE UNTIL I WRAP THEM SO IF YOU PAY BEFORE I INVOICE YOU IT MIGHT BE HIGHER DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE BOX - IF THE ITEM IS TALL AND I HAVE TO USE A LARGER BOX IT WILL COST MORE IF THE WEIGHT IS REALLY HIGH - In this case of course the box size would not be that big. The weight is a little over a lb - please be aware if the weight is starting out heavy to insure safe delivery it will be wrapped very tightly and could weigh two or more lbs over the original described weight. I calculate the weight to be after packaging 3 to 4lbs probably closer to 3 lbs - if it is less or more I will adjust it on the invoice and you will get the lowest shipping. I don't set the shipping costs and get nothing from it if it is high I prefer Priority Mail because it's been getting to buyers fast and t is less chance of breakage. I will combine shipping gladly for multiple items to get the most economical shipping cost and if you are local you can pick up items also. I charge a minimal handling fee for boxes and packing between $1 - $3.00 depending on the item and the amount of styrofoam or packing materials that are needed.
