Up for auction, 1 complete set of vintage Sterling silver flatware, 76 pieces in total, made by International Sterling under the Royal Danish brand. All pieces are marked with either "International Sterling, Royal Danish," the International Sterling/Royal Danish logo, or both.
Included in the set are: 12 dinner forks, 12 salad/dessert forks, 12 cream/soup spoons, 12 Demitasse spoons, 12 butter knives, 12 dinner knives with Insico stainless steel blades, 2 large serving spoons, 1 jelly spoon, and 1 large gravy ladle. The set comes in what appears to be the original wooden velvet-lined case, which is in very good condition. The silverware itself is in immaculate condition, and has seen very, very little use over the years (the set has been in my family since new). I cleaned up the few pieces that showed any hint of tarnishing by hand with relative ease. NONE of the pieces have any dents, dings, bends, or monograms. It is very difficult to find a complete set like this, and you will note that most auctions contain sets with odd numbers of various utensils, i.e. a 8 forks, 10 spoons, 12 knives, etc. This is a FULL place setting for 12 individuals. A couple of things worth mentioning: the "3M" tag seen inside the wooden box is just a moisture absorbing paper to prevent tarnishing, it is not actually a logo affixed to the velvet; the blades on the dinner knives are stainless steel, however this is standard in high quality silverware sets, as silver blades will not hold a decent edge (the handles are still Sterling); 1 of the spoons grouped together with the soup spoons appears slightly smaller than the others (though still the same design, of course) and from what information I can gather, it may actually be a "sugar spoon," however I am not an expert on dining ware in general, so please study the photos before bidding. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask, and though I am neither a silverware authority nor aficionado, I will do my best to answer any and all questions.
