Up for auction is one of the Beatles rarest mass-produced US LPs. This is the Beatles first American LP, "Introducing the Beatles" in STEREO. This was issued in January or February 1964. This is the Blank Back edition of the LP. According to Bruce Spizer, author of the book Songs, Pictures, and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles on Vee Jay Records , the LP is actually RARER than the famous Ad Back edition, although it is worth considerably less money. In NM condition, both records list in the thousands. Less than 1101 Stereo blank back covers were printed, according to Spizer. Stereo copies of any Beatles Vee-Jay Record are a rarity, and next to "The Beatles & Frank Ifield on Stage," this is the rarest of them. Less than 3% of the version 1 records produced were stereo. The total percentage of "Introducing the Beatles" LPs that were version 1 stereo discs is about 1.636%. It is not surprising then, that this record is quite a rarity. Using the Goldmine Record Price Guide for grading, the jacket is unfortunately only a G+. The top is clearly deteriorating, although it is mostly intact. The spine is pretty beat up, although you can read the spine without too much difficulty. The bottom is fairly ripped but relatively clean. Both the front and back have a good deal of ring wear.
