Thank you.Selling the balance of my aunt's Inuit collection which she received from her life long friend from nursing school. I listed approximately 20 items recently, but we kept the most interesting ones, according to my aunt's notes, until now. My aunt's friend returned home, to Bakers Lake each year and usually brought back a native carving for my aunt, from the fifties right up to recent years. I believe her friend, also a nurse, had told her, these few items were not commercial ones, sold to tourists or exported, but rather, were made by her friends, and consumed locally as gifts for family, etc. This is a soapstone carving of a Native woman using a food chopper. From my aunt's notes, this is the first Inuit item she received from her friend, and it should be from 1953 or older based on that. It is signed, but I cant tell what the lettering or signature is, just a nice early piece! It is VERY heavy, making shipping higher. Approximately 6" tall. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Please ask any questions you might have before bidding. Due to recent health issues, I will be listing more items from my family's collection, please watch for future listings. T are literally read more
