This auction is for a traditional-scale c.1940s Iranian Bakhtiari-style native Arabian costume tack set with matching costumed rider doll . This set was made by the seller, Kim Jacobs, in 2005 for the Peter Stone Standing Arabian. It will also fit the Breyer PAM and H-R Zara, but the bridle does not fit these latter model horses as well. This costume set has been photo shown many times with great success. It has been live shown only once in a class of 14 w it placed third. (The first place horse wore a $1200+ costume; the second place horse was my other entry.) I feel this tack set merely needs a flashier model horse in order to show it off more effectively. Documentation sheets will be included. The horse tack consists of several pieces. First is a decorative saddle cloth-rug that drapes over the rear of the horse. His saddle cloth has wire sewn into its edges so it will conform to the shape of the horse. It is fully lined and edged with silver trim and medium blue hand-tied tassels. Second is the saddle which is sewn from thin tan vinyl over a metal saddle tree. The girth is elastic with hook-and-eye closures. An adjustable breast collar - decorated with silver trim and hand-tied rust and medium blue tassels - attaches to rings on the front of the saddle. A rolled sleeping blanket (for the rider) is attached to a ring at the rear of the saddle. The saddle has adjustable stirrup straps and fancy metal stirrups. The saddle is covered by a decorative saddle cover-rug which is kept in place by an over-girth made from black ribbon and elastic with hook-and-eye closures. The saddle cover also has wire sewn around its edges to help it conform to the shape and curve of the saddle. It is edged with silver trim and accented with a few rust and medium blue hand-tied tassels. Next is the rider's gear: two burlap sacks containing three flat round loaves of bread and a wrapped cheese and leg of goat. These food items are removable from the sacks should you wish to display your doll eating a meal; they are made from sculpey and accurately painted. T is also a water canteen. The two sacks and the canteen are tied together and drape over the rolled sleeping blanket. The bridle is made from dark brown leather lace and black satin ribbon with a decorative brow band, Rio Rondo bit, white cavalry-style lead rope, and rust colored reins made from braided embroidery thread. PLEASE NOTE: after the first "scene" photo was taken, I revised and improved upon the bridle, so the bridle you will receive is the one in the head study photo. The new bridle has no string throat ties or neck collar. The new bridle is easier to put on and fits the PS Arab better. The doll is a Mego action figure, 8 ½" tall. He is wearing off-white cotton bloused pants and a bloused shirt. He has a tan vest edged with blue trim and a tan and off-white turban. He wears black plastic boots, a black and brown belt, and two cartridge shoulder belts. He has a brown plastic rifle with decorative shoulder strap. His clothes are not removable. He has painted on sideburns and a mustache. PLEASE NOTE: In this auction, only the costume and doll are for sale, NOT the horse. The background props, although shown in the photos, are also NOT for sale. SERIOUS U.S. BIDDERS ONLY, PLEASE. PAYMENT: By U.S. Postal Money Order, Western Union Money Order, Bank Cashier's Check or similar. I will not accept personal checks. Also, no Paypal. PACKING AND SHIPPING: By U.S.P.S. Priority Mail (please add $4.05). Any additional postage I'll pay. Insurance is an extra $1.30 and at the buyer's option. Costume tack set and doll will be mailed on the first Monday (unless a holiday or snowstorm) after receipt of payment. WINNING BIDDER: Please complete checkout even if I send you an invoice.
