Irish Dresden "Vienna Waltz" Perfect gift for St. Patrick's Day! You are bidding on a vintage Irish Dresden figurine, entitled "Vienna Waltz". Irish Dresden Collections of fine porcelain figures are renowned worldwide. Presidents John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton have been presented with Irish Dresden figurines. The process of making fine porcelain was first discovered in the ancient town of Meissen, near Dresden in Germany, in the early 18th Century. Real cotton lace, impregnated with porcelain clay, is used to dress the figurines, and hand made porcelain flowers, or other decorations, are added. They are then glazed, and each piece is hand painted by craftsmen. Measures - 5 ½" by 4 ¾" by 8" tall. Excellent condition. Comes complete with original box...no damage or wear to the box. This figurine was purchased in Ireland. It is in perfect condition, with one minor exception. The pinky finger on the lady's right-hand appears to have been reattached. If you would like to see a close-up picture of the lady's hand, please contact me...it is difficult to see when uploaded to Ebay. This is an extremely rare and delicate piece.
