Unit is Marked....Irvin Barometric Release, MK-V....mfrs serial no....patent 2516571, Other patents pending.....IRVING AIR CHUTE CO, INC... It then has arming instructions on the id plate, just 1-4 steps. I believe you can read the instructions in the photo. T is a reset stud hole on the bottom of the id plate. In the lower r/h corner it says....Taylor Instrument Companies, Rochester NY USA. Dimensions/Description: The box part is 4 inch long by 2 inch wide and 1.5 inch thick. Coming from the bottom of the square is a 1 inch diameter tube 4 inch long. It is threaded on to the square. Evidently you unscrue this to expose a spring, to set the mechanism. On top of the square is a tube 3/4 inch in diameter and 4 inch long. It then changes to a flexible cable about 3/8 inch in diameter and 10 inch long. This ends in a cable loop fitting, see photos. The other cable is also 3/8 diameter and is 24 inch long to the end of the round fitting ending in a flat, red aluminum fitting, see photos. On the back of the square is a plastic covered gauge. It is marked; feet x 1000 and has 4 settings, with 5,000 feet apparently being the highest set point. T are lots sof screws on the back and I suppose you could take this apart and study the mechanism inside.
