we have an interesting and great looking Cast Iron Japanese "NABE" broth and noodle POT with Black Enamel interior and a Wooden Cover by ISHIGAKI which measures approx. 11 1/2" in top diameter X 9" in base diameter X 4 1/4" side high (deep) (add 6 3/4" for the bail-like handle), holds up to 5 quarts or 20 cups or 160 ounces, and is in very very good maintained condition...appearing to have had very minimal use. T are no cracks, rust or oxidation...only very minor small scuff marks and t on the rim and sides which are hardly noticeable without close examination, hardly worth mentioning, and not at all offensive. The bottom pot has three small feet, and is marked, "ISHIGAKI." This Nabe stew pot is primarily used for broth and noodle dishes accommodating large families or gatherings, and the wooden cover (or Kiri) fits perfectly keeping the food warm. Came from a well cared for private collection of some years, however the exact age is unknown. This cast iron pot heats evenly, retains the heat, and with consistent care it will last a lifetime. This item weighs approx. 8 1/2 lbs. without packing box and packing material.
