The Island of Sheep [Richard Hannay Series Number Five] by John Buchan, First Edition with Dust JacketA First Edition, [First Printing] of 'The Island of Sheep' by John Buchan in Very Good+ condition in a Very Good condition pictorial dust jacket published by Hodder and Stoughton Limited in 1936 Condition Summary: (Very Good+/Very Good) A very tidy, tightly bound book with clean boards and pages, in a clean bright dust jacket. All notable faults: Book has paper lightly tanned at the edges. Pictorial dust jacket has two small 4 mm deep chips on the head of the spine, one long tear on the upper panel with a tape repair of unknown origin on the reverse, a few very short closed tear, minor wear on the corners and edges and very lightly sunned on the spine. Dust jacket conservation: Chips have been stabilised with Japanese paper, using Methyl Cellulose conservation adhesive [fully reversible] Author : Buchan, John John Buchan (1875 to 1940) —British novelist born the son of a Calvinist presbyterian minister in eastern Scotland, best known as the author of popular novels such as 'The Thirty Nine Steps' and 'Greenmantle', but also wrote numerous other thrillers, story stories and historical works including biographies of Montrose, Sir Walter Scott, Julius Caesar and Augustus First Edition, [First Printing] — Book edition identified by:
