Rare Italian Army 1939 San Giorgio 6x30 Genova Sestri Military Binocular WW2 Rare Italian Army San Giorgio 6x30 Genova-Sestri Military Binocular from WW2. 1939-XVII. This rare Italian Army 1939 San Giorgio 6x30 Genova-Sestri Military Binocular is in in very good condition considering its age. They are marked '6x30' '140' 'San Giorgio' 'Genova-Sestri' on the left hand eyepiece plate and 'R. Esercito Italiano' (Royal Italian Army) and '1939 - XVII' on the right hand plate. The XVII indicates the 17th year of the fascistic government. They are stamped with the serial number(s) Ma 22441 and 103525. I'm not sure exactly what these indicate. The aluminium body work is in good shape, with rubbed paint and some abrasion on the raised areas consumate with use. The 'beauty rings' which screw over the objective lenses, are a bit dented as the images show. The leather type covering is starting to get dry and brittle, with a small section is cracked and missing, as shown in the last image. Overall I would describe them as well used but well looked after. The optics are well collimated and undamaged. There are no chips or prism damage at all as far as I can tell following a thorough inspection. There is no fungus present. There is some internal dust/haze and one or two small specks visible on the prisms (when viewing in reverse) but these do
