AUDIO ON-OFF ITALIAN GUIDO CACCIAPUOTI CERAMICHE GRES HUGE LADY FIGURE * ITEM DESCRIPTION: The sculpture depicts a magnificent Huge Lady. The sculpture is Signed Guido Cacciapuoti. Excellent condition, no cracks, no breaks, no hairlines, no restorations . Measures: 15 1/2 " (39.5cm) x 11 " (28cm) x 14 " (35.5cm) high . "Because the Cacciapuoti clan was such a large and talented family the history is some what confusing. It is the work of Mario and Guido's "Ceramiche E Grès D'Arte Cacciapuoti" that collectors most want. Conflicting sources give the year 1917 and 1927 as the opening date of the studio with most authorities accepting 1927. Almost all agree that the firm dissolved in 1953 upon Guido's death; however, the company did continue operations until 1970. Even before Guido left his father's shop to open his own studio he was recognized as being the finest ceramics sculptor of animal figures in the country (Biennial of venice, 1920). These animal figures are the most collectible. Even Kings Emanuele III and George of England were collectors".
