~~~~~ EXTRAORDINARY ELEPHANT ~~~~~ The auction you are viewing is for a wonderful old Italian Majolica elephant sculpture. This fascinating piece came from an estate in an upscale neighborhood in Naples, Florida. The home was loaded with beautiful collectible majolica pieces. This one in particular caught my eye because of it's great colors and unique design. It is a real gem! This fabulous art pottery elephant stands a majestic 25" High X 9" across from the trunk to the tail. I will let the pictures tell the story, but I must tell you that the hand painted details are superb. This piece could be used as a decorative piece for display or made into an awesome lamp. It is quite heavy. The ornament on top is removable so that it could be fashioned into a finial for a really special touch. Either way, it is a spectacular piece of art. This great elephant from Italy is in excellent condition. The glaze is beautiful. I did find a couple of tiny chips along the bottom of the base, but nothing that detracts from the beauty of the piece. This original piece is signed and numbered.
