This helmet was in my collection for many years and in my opinion is 100% original period 1944 1945 RSI Italy. I bought this helmet in 1991 from the no longer existing Museum of WWII in Buena Park California and according to the seller was acquired in the early 1970's on a local gun militaria auction.The chinstrap is missing but I will add an original Italian WWII chinstrap for the winner in case he wants to complete the helmet. Liner band is damage, liner size 56. No idea on what kind of rank / insignia is painted on the side but the skull painted on the front is for a RSI Black Brigade not sure which one. If you need more pictures please e mail me. The helmet has a light sage green color camo paint applied and you can see the original factory green gray under. ATTENTION !!! The helmet was bought from the person the sold it to me in 1981, the helmet is on page 90 of the book and the winner of this auction will receive this auction book as well. Not many fakes were made 27 years ago, buy with confidence. I added the pictures of the auction catalog on E bay.
