Very skillful carving to capture the character of this pair
Man and Woman Figures Skinny old fellow with a luxuriant beard and dapper cap, filling his long pipe from a bag; kindly lady places a hand on her aching hip as she totes a basket of mending. Both have brilliant piercing blue eyes -- they look Swiss in terms of dress, but are marked: MADE IN ITALY Hand Carved in Italy Measurements: Woman: 8" tall x 2" deep x 3 1/2" wide Man: 8 1/4" tall x 2 1/2" deep x 2 1/2" wide This is a listing for an "as-found" item, so we can only guess as to provenance; please refer to photos for condition -- we note a scuffed/chipped area on the man's bum -- looks like a knot in the wood maybe? * * * * * * *Condition: Vintage, as found; please refer to photos, and/or ask for specific information as needed. * * * * * * * * * We strive to accurately describe the offered item, and welcome your specific questions which will be answered quickly and honestly.
